The Simple Joys

Liam loves his new train table, mostly climbing on top of it and acting like "Liam Godzilla" destroying the Western logging town! While he was in destruction mode, he took some time out and did this...It just cracked me up!

A Cozy Christmas

This year, instead of running between all our parents' houses, we tried to host our first Christmas Eve, a "Cozy Christmas." Liam's grandparents all came to us this year so we didn't have to rush here and there. Overall, I think it was a successful new tradition! We picked a theme of a "Cozy Christmas" and everything went with that. The presents included slippers, PJ's and pillows. The menu was all yummy comfort food - bacon wrapped water chestnuts, mini hotdogs, yummy gooey pizza dip, ham, and broccoli cheese soup. We had chocolate and banana pie, along with delicious Main Street Cupcakes! YUM!

If I had to pick a favorite "highlight" of this first year, it would have to be when the bacon wrapped water chestnuts, deliciously cooking in the oven, set off the smoke detectors, causing Layla to have a meltdown, right as my mother, Aunt Patty and mother-in-law walked in, to our smoke filled great room, might I add! Needless to say, we did not make the second batch, even though they were absolutely yummy! My broccoli cheese soup was also a misfire. It was the thickest cheese soup ever, and I basically made enough to feed an army! No soup next year!

Layla wants a taste of those cupcakes!

Everyone's gone...I'm going to sleep!

Liam wishes you a Merry Christmas

I don't know how, but Liam learned how to say "Ho ho ho!" He started saying it one day when he saw a Santa, and continues to do it each time he sees one! I think it's just the cutest thing! Enjoy!

Seeing Santa

Liam saw two different Santas this year!

One was at Petco so that he could take a Santa picture with Layla. That Santa wasn't exactly what we were looking for....well, you take a look.

The other Santa was a Summit Mall. We were pretty surprised that he did great with both! Check out the photos and video below!

Heritage Farms - Christmas Tree

Last weekend we traveled to Heritage Farms in Peninsula to pick out our Christmas tree. It was a beautiful snowy day! We browsed and looked for over an hour, but decided to get a pre-cut tree there. The men there weren't surprised because most of the best trees were cut down Thanksgiving weekend. We'd find trees that were CLOSE to being "perfect" but were a little too bare. The tree we found is large and full and perfect!

Dada

Liam LOVES saying Dada. I think he uses it when refering to myself or Tom, but Tom thinks he knows who Dada is, he just likes to say it a lot. In this video, he is definitely saying it at Tom as he is bundled up and waiting for Daddy to get in the car so we can pick out our Christmas tree!

Uh-oh!

Liam has definitely learned uh-oh and 3 different kinds at that! There is the happier "uh-uh,", the mildly upset "uh-oh" and the sad "uh-oh." I have been trying to video him doing these, but he'll never do them when I have the camera on! Here are the best of the uh-oh's. In the phone video, you will also see his favorite thing to do - throwing things!

Happy Holidays!

It has been so fun this holiday season! Liam likes all the decorations and the snow! Tom's least favorite decoration is my very awesome jingle bells! I'm glad Liam loves them as much as I do!

Trying to Jump

We think Liam is trying to jump here...either way, it's cute!

Liam's in a Big Boy Bed!

Last week, Liam climbed out/fell out of his crib! It scared us very much and after much advice seeking, it was recommended that we get him into a toddler bed. So Tom worked hard to baby proof his room and took off the front of his crib and added the toddler bed rails. We were very worried that he would not stay in the bed because he does not like going to bed. But of course our Liam surprised us and did a fantastic job in his new bed! We put him in and he started crying, so we left the room. He followed to the door, cried for about a minute, then walked right back into his bed, cried 5 more minutes and then slept the rest of the night! WOW! We are so proud of him!

He looks like this before bed every night!

Little Gym

I am behind on some Liam videos, but I was very excited to get a video from Liam's teacher at Little Gym Katie showing some of his skills! He absolutely loves going each week, playing with the kids and learning! He is very good at anything with the bars and loves to do somersaults. We already signed up for the next session!

Happy Halloween!

Liam had his first experience trick or treaing tonight. Overall, he thought it was just okay. He was annoyed his monkey hat kept covering his eyes, but the wagon ride was fun and there were pretty lights all around! He liked walking up to the houses instead of being carried up, and definitely liked when he could see other little kids. One little Elmo even offered him a lick from her lollipop!

Afterwards, Liam just liked playing with his candy! Of course, Mommy and Daddy divided it all up and Liam got a Goldfish Graham Cracker, that Layla ate half of it, and a bite of a Reese Peanut Buttercup! Maybe next year buddy!

Walking the Dog

Liam very much wants to actually walk Layla, not just help me walk her. That would not be a good idea. So, we got Liam his own little doggy and he loves to take "Brownie" on a walk around the house!

Halloween Party

Liam visited me at school for our Halloween Parade and Party. He loved seeing all the kids! And the kids were just as excited to see him! He really liked watching them play cornhole and just giggled the whole time! I think he thinks Mommy's work is fun and can't wait to visit again!

Pumpkin Carving

I don't think Liam knew what to think about carving the pumpkin. One minute he was scared of the pulp and seeds and the next he was getting into it. Layla wanted to eat all the seeds!! And then Liam was obsessed with picking up the bowl with all the goo and dumping it out! It was exciting to say the least!

Me DO!

Liam is learning how to feed himself! It's messy, but he's just so cute! When Tom was little, he said he always would want to do everything himself - "Me Do" as we call it. Liam is slowly developing this too. In this video, he wants us to help him eat, but tonight at dinner, he did not want any help at all! He's a stubborn boy sometimes!

"AYE!"

Tom taught Liam his "first word" as he calls it - AYE! Liam loves walking around, pointing at things and shouting it. Oh no!

Flashlight Movie

The other night, Tom and I turned off the lights in Liam's room and had him play with his flashlight. It has different caps to put on the top to change the color and picture. Liam loves taking the caps off. He played for about 30 minutes with it. And as you can see (or hear) he totally has a major meltdown at the end (around 4 minutes 15 seconds) when we want to clean up! (Warning: It's SUPER loud, plus I scream too)

I know this is very long, but it's my first experiment with Movie Maker. I made it more for us than for the blog, but it's too cute not to share!

Dancing with Ellen

Liam LOVES dancing! He dances when he hears music, when we sing, when he wants milk, when something's funny, etc. We watch Ellen regularly and lately, whenever Ellen puts on her music to dance, Liam will join right in! I am determined to get a clip of him dancing "with Ellen" on her show this year!

My Favorite Face!

Unfortunately, I taught Liam this little trick. I think I even show it in another video, but it cracks me up more than anything! I just love this and could watch it all day!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Liam definitely liked Daddy's birthday because he got round two with sweets! Liam definitely liked licking the frosting! Too cute! I just wanna smooch all over those chocolate lips!

BOOKS!

Liam loves books! Some days he can sit with a book for hours (ok, minutes) and keep himself entertained. Some books he asks us to read to him all the time (dang you Brown Bear!) and he developing a routine with others. He loves going to look for new books too! I'm glad I passed that gene onto him!

The Pumpkin Patch

We took Liam to his first trip to the pumpkin patch! We actually went to two in Peninsula - Heritage Farms and Szalay's Market. Liam definitely liked walking around and seeing all the fall items everywhere! Plus, he looks adorable next to pumpkins! Here he is trying to help Daddy pick out a pumpkin:

Liam's First Birthday

Liam's first birthday party was a wonderful day of celebration! Thank you to our family and friends that helped make the day so special!

My mom had told me of an old Polish tradition in which the baby "predicts" their future. Check it out!

Happy Birthday to Liam!

Liam is ONE!

For Liam's official first birthday, Tom and I took the day off to enjoy it with our baby boy! Unfortunately, that included a doctor's visit first thing in the morning that pretty much set the whole day askew! Oh well! After the doctor's, we headed to Main Street Cupcakes to pick out a yummy cupcake for Liam. Fittingly, he picked Birthday Cake! We came home, changed into shorts, since it was so hot, and headed off to the Akron Zoo!

After the zoo, Liam had a complete sneeze meltdown! Poor kid! We stripped him down, let him tear into his cupcake and followed that off with a bath! Afterwards, he opened all his presents from us, including an awesome ball pit and tunnel contraption! Daddy seemed to have more fun with it than Liam! While Tom tried to pitch the balls into the hoops and holes, Liam laughed his little butt off! I could watch this all day long!

Liam eventually had a complete tired meltdown after a day of too much partying! I guess we learned our lesson NOT to over schedule birthdays (and don't take him to the doctor's before a day of fun)!

Happy Birthday Liam! I cannot believe you are ONE! You are truly ONE-derful and we love you so much!

A Look Back

I cannot believe my little baby, my Liam is turning 1 tomorrow! This past year has gone by so fast, and it was truly the best year of my life! How is it possible in just one little year to have so many sleepless nights, complete joys, endless worrying, and love? And how is it that this tiny person has accomplished so much in one year? Crawling, talking, walking. Going from a newborn that needed me for everything to this little independent boy that has a mind of his own and knows what he wants.

I can only vaguely remember what my life was like before Liam. He is my everything, my perfect little boy and I am so BLESSED to have him in my life! I hoped and prayed for him for so long, and he is so much more than I ever imagined.

So to my Liam, thank you for being my son. Thank you for letting me be your Mommy! I love you so much!

The Little Gym

Tom and I decided that we wanted to get Liam around other children his age and get him moving around, so we went for an introductory class at The Little Gym. Liam has a BLAST! They did a flip video of his first class. I cannot figure out how to make this an active link, so you'll need to copy and paste the link to view it. Sorry!

http://sharing.theflip.com/session/837976d73f188c9fb1d808784814be04/video/18264556

Random Videos

Liam is up to a ton of hi jinx nowadays! He loves playing with Layla's food, pulling on our curtains, pulling out the cable box, pulling on wires...etc...And he finishes each mischievous act with a smile!
Here's a few random videos of some of his new habits:
He learned how to make this hissing/throat clearing noise! Oh boy!

For a while, he started walking with his hand on his hip! Oh no! Is that how I walk?!

Liam has also been walking with his arms behind him. Tom calls it his bird walk. We had a hard time getting him to do it on tape, but here's a snip-it.

Liam's First Haircut

We took Liam today to John Robert's Salon in Mayfield to have his Auntie Erica cut his hair for the first time! We think it helped that Liam was VERY sleepy! He did a great job and had so much fun!! We have his ENTIRE haircut taped, so you might not want to watch all 6 minutes, but I'm posting it anyway!

Liam, the Remote Stealer!

Liam's life ambition so far is to steal the TV remote. He works on it all day long. Here is one of his successful attempts!

Kisses!

Liam sorta kinda learned how to make kissy sounds! Today we played a little kissy sound imitation game - I did one kiss, then he did it, I did two kisses, then he did, I did three kisses and he copied it again! So cute! Here he is a few days ago when he first learned how to make the noise. Forgive the hair! I know he needs a trim but we were trying to hold out closer to his first birthday!

Sunday, August 22, 2010

SO BIG!

My mom is really good at "training" Liam. I gave her the task of teaching Liam "so big" and he knew it by the end of the day! Great job Nana! Here's Liam showing off his "so big" skills!

Getting Steadier

Liam is getting MUCH better walking! He can get up to 12 steps without falling - but you won't see that in this video! BUT you will see a little walking, a little clapping, and some waving - sort of.

Sunday, August 15, 2010

Liam the Rock Star!

Check out my little rock star!

Cowher Scowl

Liam is doing this new thing where he is playing with his teeth and his jaw, and basically makes the Bill Cowher Scowl! OH NO! It's so funny because he is usually so smiley, but now he has this frowny face!

Tuesday, August 10, 2010

Halloween

It's almost Halloween...well, not really. But in order to make sure I order Liam the correct size for his Halloween costume, I need to order it sooner than later in case I have to send it back. We looked at some really cute costumes and have it narrowed down to Penguin, Lobster, Elephant, Monkey or Pumpkin. Please vote on our poll to the right and select your pick.

He Walked!

Around 6:30 on Thursday, I decided I was going to make this boy walk. I could not go back to school without seeing him walk. It's crunch time. How can I do it? Use this favorite toys, of course! His stars! I didn't think it would really work, but on the 2nd try of holding his stars in front of him, he took a step! And the tears were flowing!! We practiced 2 more times and he did it both times. I tried to fake like it didn't happen when Tom came home because I didn't want him to think he missed it. He could tell the real thing already happened, but it was still so exciting. We kept getting him to take 1 step, 2 steps and by the end he was up to 4 or 5 steps! We tried our best to capture some of the excitement! Enjoy!

Liam is Sick

More poor baby has been sick since Sunday. We've had lots of cuddle time! Here's two quick videos about how we've spent our days:
Liam even sneezes cute!

Liam was starting to give up the binkies, but being sick has made him want them even more! Here he is trying to decide which binky is better. I call him Liam 2 Binks!

Our First Trip to the Zoo

Tom took a day off from work and we headed to the Cleveland Zoo. We though it would not be too busy on a weekday, but we were wrong! We practically had the last spot in the lot at 11 am! It was NOT the most successful trip to the zoo - we walked up hill more than we should have, did not pack all the right stuff, Liam slept through most of it...BUT we did have fun! The highlight was that we feed the giraffes! Ok, I dropped my biscuit because the giraffe was coming at me and I was trying to video Tom and Liam feeding them. Then the second time, I got just the tail end of it. Take a look:

Liam's new favorite game is taking off people's hats. It's a blurry video, but those are my two favorite boys! I love it!

Look Ma, I'm Standing

Liam has been able to pull himself to standing for a while now, but within the last 2 weeks, he has been able to stand up all by himself! I've been following him around with the Flip for quiet a few days and this is finally the video I could get...not the best...oh well!

Tuesday, July 27, 2010

Walking Day is Almost Here

Liam is so good at standing up from the ground now and you can tell he's thinking about taking that first step, but it hasn't happened yet. He is definitely getting better at walking with his shopping cart and he's now speeding up and down the hall!

Sunday, July 25, 2010

He's Getting Adventurous!

Here's my adventurer, exploring his toys! This just cracked me up! At first he tried standing up while under the toy, but he would just get trapped in the seat part. Cracked me up!

Emotional Boy

Liam is generally the happiest baby ever. If you've been around him for any length of time, you know he smiles, waves, giggles and more. But he can change on you so fast! Here's a brief glimpse of his emotions:

When he gets really upset with us, he says the same thing over and over. We don't know what is means because he's applied it to so many situations. Have a listen:

Liam TRULY is an Irishman!

Liam is fascinated with our wine cabinet. He likes to roll by in his car and pull a bottle or two out. I have caught him with 3 wine bottles in his car at 1 time! I also THOUGHT I pulled them all out and 20 minutes later saw that he was basically stashing one under his tushie! We have now removed all the wine bottles from the cabinet, after he helped me pull out each one!

Liam is 10 Monthsl Old!

I can't believe my baby is 10 months old! He is learning something new everyday and amazing me! Between 9 and 10 months old, he learned how to REALLY crawl - and fast, pull to standing, walk while holding on to things, stand up from the ground NOT holding onto anything and FINALLY stopped spitting up! That has definitely been the biggest blessing!

He is now obsessed with orange and blue star and does everything with them! He has now learned how to crawl/glide with them!

July 10-16, 2010 Seneca Falls, NY

This summer we went with Tom's dad to Seneca Falls, NY for a week of fun on the lake! Liam especially loved hanging out with Maggie, his cousin from RI. They became fast friends! Although we were on the lake, there was no beach, so we ventured about a mile down to the "beach" for some fun in the sand...well, take a look for yourself.

July 2, 2010 Pool Time

We finally set up a baby pool in our backyard, but it was so hot! We only stayed out a short while, but check out Liam trying to splash, along with the coolest ducky ever!

July 1, 2010 Playtime with Layla

Liam loves to watch Layla play! Watch as he cheers her on!

July 1, 2010 SO FAR BEHIND!

Life has been busy with a crawling boy, so I have been slacking a bit on my videos! Here is Liam giving us one of his lectures! I wish I knew what he was saying!

Tuesday, June 29, 2010

Great Grandma Haskins

We went over to celebrate Liam's Great Grandma Haskins' 87th Birthday on Sunday! He is so lucky to still have 4 great grandparents with him! We had a wonderful BBQ, took a great Haskins' Family photo and made it inside just before the storm!

Thursday, June 24, 2010

Pull to Standing

Liam is getting really good at pulling to standing! Yeah him!

Crawling

Here is Liam showing off his best crawling. And what is he crawling towards? The purpose of his life - getting the remote! We WERE watching The View at the time and he changed the channel to tennis. Typical boy!

Snort!

Liam developed this awesome snorty thing today for when he is really happy! I love it!

After Eating

Liam always cries when eating time is over and I wipe his face. I had to get this on video, so here you go:

Monday, June 21, 2010

A Typical Afternoon

Liam is a playing fool! Here he is crawling, waving, trying to stand up and more! Plus there is a little battle going on between Liam and Layla over a new basketball! Layla has it and Liam wants it but can't get over there!

First Trip to Rosati's

After St. Barnabas' Carnival, we stopped at Rosati's. Of course we had to let Liam have a taste and he went crazy for it! He kept trying to climb out of his stroller. Oh no, we started an addiction!

Wednesday, June 16, 2010

Raspberries and Yawns

Check out Liam's great raspberry blowing! So cute! He also has a few cute yawns in here, along with his new whisper talking! LOVE this boy!

Trying to Walk!

Tom and I were playing with Liam in the den, when we decided to have Liam try to stand up and play with his "Kickin' Gym." All of a sudden, it started moving and Liam walked right along with it! We were shocked! So of course, we made him keep doing it! And of course, he kept falling after a few feet!! He's getting much better at falling! We even bought him a few toys to help him walk now but so far he likes this toy the best. Thanks Auntie Jen!

P.S. He also has "let go" of this toy and stood up for a few seconds and pulled himself to standing too!

The Gargle

Liam has many talents, one of which is his gargle! Check it out!

He REALLY Said "Mom!"

Ok, so Tom does not believe this story since he was not home for it, but here's how it happened: I was sitting at the kitchen table and Liam was in one of his toys. He said "Mom," and reached out his hands. I went over there and he hugged me and gave me one of his kisses! Tom keeps saying Liam doesn't know what he's saying, but I think it's fairly obvious that he wanted his mom and wanted kisses! Anyway, I sat back down and he did it again! Well, I got out the flip cam then to film it and this is what I got. Tom is still a non-believer, but trust me that Liam knows what he is saying and it's directed at me - MANY times a day now!

Trying New Foods

We have started giving Liam little finger foods - puffs, yogurt drops, etc. He's been in major teething mode, so we gave him a teething biscuit and he liked it! The cutest part was that he wanted to share it with Layla, and I'm sure she'll take him up on that offer!

Saturday, June 12, 2010

My Big Boy

The end of school was definitely hectic and I am a bit behind on videos. I'm not still caught up, but here's a brief recap of things that have been going on:
  • Liam is definitely saying "mom mom mom mom" and it's so exciting! Tom is even finally admitting that it's a definite "mom" he's saying and not just babbling.
  • He's big enough to sit on the front of a shopping cart! I've been hesitant to put him in there but he's a champ at it! Today I even took him by myself and he rode around Heinen's!
  • Liam is a waving fool! The first real wave was June 4th. Now he waves constantly! He waves at us, at Layla, at his shadow, at houses, at the "baby in the mirror," and today at a lamp post!
  • He is also standing up at his "kickin' gym" and on June 5th, he started using it as a walker! We got him to walk across the den and family room! He also falls a lot at it!
  • He is a kissing fool! He mostly just kisses me and will do it on command. It's a big, open mouth, wet kiss with a hint of teeth! He is even making a "muwah" sound like I do to him when I give kisses!
  • Liam let go of his toy and "stood" for approximately 5 seconds on his own on June 8th! He also grabbed onto his toy and pulled himself up!
  • He is working on tooth number 3!

I am so proud of my big boy! It's amazing to watch all these changes!

Wednesday, May 26, 2010

Ham is BAD!

I finally decided to bite the bullet and try the meat baby foods. I should have known when I opened the ham and ham gravy one that Liam was not going to like it. I think I'll just let his face tell the story!

Tuesday, May 25, 2010

Liam Sings the Blues

I won't torture you with Liam's other two videos in which he discovers the microphone, but this one I think is pretty funny! Here, Liam is playing on Papa John's piano and is definitely singing the blues about something, we just don't know what!

Monday, May 24, 2010

Liam Loves His Blocks

Now that Liam is so good at sitting, he loves just playing with his box of blocks! I love watching him explore, grab, move, etc!

Tuesday, May 18, 2010

Zoom!

Daddy has been waiting for this day for awhile, and Liam likes it!

A Case of Giggles

Liam got a case of the giggles the other night and cracked up at everything. It started when he was eating and he kept putting his hand in his mouth and he just couldn't stop!

Razzzzberries!

Liam finally learned to stick out his tongue and blow raspberries! He loves doing it now and pretty much just spits on all of us! Good thing you are just watching this and not in person!

Do You Hear Mommy?

Liam kinda sorta definitely said "MAMA" - Yeah Liam! In the first video, I think he says Layla (more like "Ray-ra") too...sorta...

I definitely hear "MOM" in this one!

Almost Crawling

Liam's not quite ready to crawl, but he's getting closer! Here he is lifting his little behind up!

Sunday, May 9, 2010

A Case of the "Ra-Ra's"

Liam's new favorite word is "Ra Ra Ra..." and on and on! It's just the cutest thing and he's positive he's telling us a story when he says it!

I can't believe how much he grows each day and is always learning new things. This past week he has been able to do so much more physically and I'm in awe of his progress!

Saturday, May 8, 2010

Makes Me Laugh SO Hard!

Liam loves to put this in his mouth and hum, and I think it's funny to pull it out when he's doing it because it makes a funny sound. So I did that, but on accident we made this new noise. So then we just kept doing it....Just watch, you'll see...and LAUGH!

The Kid Can Bounce

One day, Liam's two feet couldn't touch the ground, and the next day, he could and he became a bouncing fool!

A Funny Laugh

Liam loves the words "no" and "don't"....GREAT! Here he is laughing to Daddy tell him "no no no no no!"

Monday, April 26, 2010

Liam the Loud and Noisy

Warning: He's LOUD!

Ready to Explore

Liam is definitely becoming more coordinated. He loves playing on his blankets - rolling around, stretching, trying to crawl and more! Here are some videos of some of his favorite physical activities.

Mommy's a Bad Cook!

So Mommy burned dinner the other night! But fear not, Liam thought it was so funny! Good, because it's a sound he'll probably hear again! WARNING: It's LOUD!

Liam, Baby Model!

Honestly, if Liam didn't smile so much and know how to pose, I wouldn't take so many pictures of him! But the kid loves the camera! Yesterday, I finally dressed him in this blue cashmere outfit. I originally bought it for him to wear coming home from the hospital but it was huge! It just now fits him at 7 months! It's from Restoration Hardware which is where I bought all his bedding from, so he literally matched his room! Anyway, we decided to have a "photo shoot" yesterday and one thing kept making him laugh....

Saturday, April 24, 2010

Liam is 7 Months Old!

Liam, now a big 7 month old, suddenly is a little joke-ster! He could not sit still to take his 7 month pictures and kept crumpling up his sign!

Ceremonial Easter Egg Dye-ing

So even though Liam couldn't really participate, we did dye some Easter eggs for his first Easter! He kinda liked it!

Tuesday, April 6, 2010

Just Playing Around

Liam and Daddy had playtime while I was trying to work around the house. I came into Liam's room to see a ton of toys everywhere! But they were definitely having fun. I am loving watching Liam become more mobile. Here he is wiggling all over!

Liam is FAMOUS!

My Liam is making his rounds! First off, he started dating Miley Cyrus. Don't believe me, listen to her say it on Ellen:

Ellen was so happy that they are dating, that she bought the two of them matching bikes! Thanks Ellen!

Dancing Baby

We were listening to http://www.djearworm.com/ - The United State of Pop 2009 and Liam started "dancing!" Had to share!

Saturday, March 27, 2010

Layla vs. The Easter Bunny

Layla is fearful of anything that moves and is small, so of course, the Easter Bunny freaked her out! Liam thinks this is the most hilarious thing ever! Listen to him laughing in the background.

Liam's Debut on HSN

Wonderful Sarah slipped in Liam's name during her latest HSN stint for Main Street Cupcakes. I love Sarah!

Liam is 6 months old! WOW!

My baby is now a big six month old! Can you believe it? I can't!

New stats:
Weight: 15 lbs 2 oz
Height: Nearly 27 inches

Liam at Main Street Cupcakes

Liam made his debut at Main Street Cupcakes on St. Patrick's Day! Check it out!

Later, when we got home, I let him try some of "his" frosting. I think he likes it!

Liam Loves Irish Music

Liam has a Fisher Price St. Patrick's Day Train in his room and he adores the Irish music. Every time we play it, we dance around with him and he laughs and smiles! I think it will have to stay out all year round!

Green Beans

Liam tried green beans on Tuesday...so far NOT a fan!

Sunday, March 14, 2010

Eli Edward Iszkula

Our friends Jill and Steve had another baby boy on Saturday, March 13, 2010. (That's 5 boys in a row for our little JCU group!) He weighed 8 lbs 6 oz and was 19.5 inches long.
Here's a quick video of him. The loud baby in the background is, of course, Liam!

Liam Reading

Man, my baby is so smart! Check him out reading in the car. Good thing he doesn't get car sick like his mama!

Saturday, March 13, 2010

First Solid - Squash

We FINALLY started Liam on solids. (Can you explain why they are called that? Why don't we say "my baby started on purees"?) Anyway, we went with squash as his first baby food and the result was good! Check it out!

Mister Noisy

I could listen to him babble all day long!

Teething Woes

It seems like Liam has been trying to pop that first tooth through for months now! We are anxiously awaiting its arrival. Until then, let Liam tell you what it's been like:

Babbling

Liam is definitely making a lot of new sounds and we just love it! Here he is telling me a story!

Break out the Whiskey!

Liam is definitely in full teething mode! Since we are Irish, we used the best teething medicine we knew, a little whiskey on his gums. And if we had doubts that this baby has a little leprechaun in him, check out his grin after tasting it!

New Game

The other day we started a new game. He's a little tired from his bath in this video, but he loves the new "pop up/pop down" game. He giggles the whole time! He also uses his big leg muscles to pop up! SO CUTE!

Apple juice and oatmeal

We decided to TRY mixing his oatmeal with apple juice, but I wasn't exactly thinking. I should have probably tried to mix it with another liquid first, because Liam did not like the strong flavor of the baby apple juice! So now he gets a splash of apple juice in his oatmeal instead of full strength!

Liam is a Rolling FOOL!

Last week Liam starting being able to roll from front to back and then back to front. He was able to roll over 7.5 times in a row!

Liam is 5 months old!

Tom said that Liam's "month old" photos are showing perspective on how tall he is getting. I think they are...see for yourself!

Trying to Walk?

He isn't showing signs of crawling, but he definitely gets those legs moving for walking!

New Babysitters

We left Liam with his Godmother Jen and her hubby Brian so that Tom and I could go and see Avatar on Valentine's Day. He did fine! WHEW! Anyway, Brian and Jen used our Flip Cam while we were gone and this is what they got.

P.S. This new binky chewing is one of the reasons we think he is teething.

Mr. Chatterbox

I hope Liam wants to talk this much when he's 13 years old and sitting at the dinner table with us.

Liam's Cough

Liam has a bit of a cough. I called the doc and they think it's most likely because of teething! EEK! Regardless, he even coughs cutely!

My Valentine...and the next Bachelor

Every Monday night Liam and I are banished to the bedroom to watch The Bachelor. I have begun to sing "On the Wings of Love" to him all the time because of it! So I think Liam is ready to audition for The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love 2 premiering in 2035!

Playing In His Crib

He had so much fun rolling around and watching his Around The World Soother in his crib today. I think you can hear him "say" Layla too!

Cover Your EARS!

Liam has FOUND HIS VOICE! He is constantly talking or doing his new "squealing" all night long. It's funny but also very high and squeaky!

He's a GENIUS!

Liam finally rolled over from his back to his front! The boy is so smart and athletic...just like his mama.... :)

Jumping on his Jumperoo

He is definitely getting the hang on his jumperoo and bouncing much more in it!

New Blog up and running

I have been religious about posting pictures and videos of Liam on Facebook, but many of our family and friends are not on it, so Tom wanted me to make a new blog with Liam's videos. For those of you that haven't seen any of his videos yet, below are some of the highlights from December through now. Most likely, there will be at least 1 new video each week if I can keep up.
Check back regularly to see our wonderful baby's progression and CUTENESS!

Liam Rolled Over

This is the 5th time Liam rolled over (out of 6 times so far)

Rice Cereal with Milk #2

We then tried giving Liam rice cereal mixed with milk...he liked it better but still not loving it.

Rice Cereal with Water #1

We first tried rice cereal with water, but Liam quickly showed his dislike. Check it out!

New Noises

Liam has all these new sounds and noises that he does. He is also learning how to do rasberries, which just makes me giggle!

(I'm trying to egg him on to do more in the background)

Mama's Little Showoff

He loves when the camera is on him...what can I say?

Liam and Layla

All of a sudden Liam has discovered Layla. He thinks she is funny all the time!

Jungle Jumperoo

Although he is still a little small, Liam is loving his Jungle Jumperoo!

Liam's Red Car

Liam cannot honk the horn with his arms yet, so he has begun to use his head! Tom and I think this is the cutest and funniest thing ever!

Liam is a Happy Boy

I am so lucky to have such a happy boy!

Liam's First Word?

I have heard him "talk" a few times before this...see what you think?

I'm Not THAT Funny!

Liam is sitting in a special seat by the company BebePod. So I just kept saying that over and over again and he just cracked up!

Tummy Time

Doesn't he make the cutest faces??

December Videos of Liam

Liam really started showing his personality in December. He got a fun new toy - The Sea Spin and started dancing like a Little Leprechaun
